Peter Towner and Danny Ward celebrate the lauch of the Faedom Goats E.P.

FÆDOM are back ! - Peter Towner and Danny Ward’s album 'LITORALIS' became an instant and much sought-after artifact, in 2001, as marriages, families and mortgages took them elsewhere on their travels.

The ubiquitous lockdown generated the time, place and energy to get back to writing. Peter In County Cork and Danny in the south of London. Music files and lyric sheets flying to and from.

Their new E.P. 'Goats' drops down from the scree on Friday 11th April 2025. The title track came together (typically for Faedom) in several stages. Danny’s lyrics are often undeliberate – something like automatic writing. Intonation and the dot and dash of the metre call in the words – like summoning goats down from the scree slopes. Although the song might have other aspects to it. Haha! The buyer gets to decide!

'Goats'- the title track was one of many where Pete knows instantly what is wanted, the mood, tone and instrumentation. Of course, there are always alterations, iterations, honing. Just to squeeze a bit more out of, or into, the song, ‘but you get to a sweet spot when you know you are just polishing up the creation’.

The four songs together are relatively randomly selected from about 38 live and evolving Faedom creations. That may sound cavalier, but they want to represent themselves more than put out their current favourites or someone else’s idea of which ones are best.

Fall Through You is an emotional piano-based song, while Sligo Duende is a fun take on life’s search for the transcendent – oh where might it be? Pete goes to town both on the bass and a unique solo piece.

Fourthly, Round The Doubles takes you round the back doubles in search of a self that is both self-regarding and wracked with doubt. Will you accept the ‘eeh, that sounds-like’ challenge? Tricky.

You see the poetic tension? Embrace it darling, would you?
